Kathy Fox is Of Counsel in the Litigation Department of Wildman Harrold. Since joining the firm as a summer associate in 1978, she has spent her entire career litigating in state and federal courts. She has wide ranging experience in employment, commercial, and professional malpractice litigation. She has substantial jury trial experience, having tried approximately 30 cases to verdict. Kathy has litigated cases on behalf of professionals including physicians, accountants, and management consultants; on behalf of employers facing suits alleging employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; and on behalf of businesses of varying sizes, ranging from insurance companies, to retailers, to manufacturers. In over 25 years in practice, Kathy has represented her clients both at trial and on appeal, has litigated numerous injunction actions in multiple states, and has handled a number of arbitrations. She has also won hundreds of motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment, and has participated in complex and sometimes contentious discovery involving hundreds of depositions and voluminous document productions. A skilled lawyer, Kathy is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
Representative Experience:
- Successfully represented a design/build company accused of retaliating against employees who testified in a workers’ compensation case; won a jury verdict in favor of the client
- Successfully defended a retailer accused of sexual harassment and retaliation; won a federal court bench trial in favor of the client
- Successfully represented a male executive accused of battery by his female assistant; won a jury verdict in favor of the client
- Successfully defended a national car rental company accused of gender discrimination; won summary judgment and an award of attorneys’ fees in favor of the client
- Represented numerous physicians accused of medical malpractice in the circuit courts of Cook and Lake counties and won many jury trials on their behalf
- Represented numerous clients seeking to enforce or resist non-compete covenants; obtained injunctive relief and/or favorable settlements in many of these cases
